Nanoparticles: An occupational hygiene review
Institute of Occupational Medicine :: Health & Safety Executive UK :: 1 October 2004 :: ISBN 0 7176 2908 2
This review—Nanoparticles: an occupational hygiene review—considers the sources and routes of exposure of nanoparticles to humans from development and manufacturing of nanoparticle products, and reviews the exposure levels, numbers exposed, current knowledge gaps in control and effect of exposure and future trends. It concludes that all the main production processes can result in exposure through inhalation, dermal or ingestion routes but little is currently known about levels of exposure, and that there is insufficient knowledge for risk assessment purposes. The full report may be download from the HSE website.
