Description
Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark is the Patroness of the Danish Technological Institute. The objective of the Danish Technological Institute is to be an active partner in the evolution of industry and society as a developer and mediator of technological innovation. "Technology" embraces technical, managerial and business related financial expertise as well as practical use of the new knowledge in all three areas.
The Institute build-up, maintain and disseminate knowledge and services, which gives improved competitiveness, sustainable use of resources, increased employment and qualification, as well as a reduced cost burden for society and companies. The Institute co-operate with development and research centres in Denmark as well as abroad in order to find and interpret the latest knowledge?and co-operate with business organisations, educational institutes and authorities in order to disseminate and utilise this knowledge quickly and effectively.
The Danish Technological Institute is an independent, not-for-profit institution, which is approved as technological service agency by the Danish Ministry of Business and Industry.
Center for Packaging and Transport (E&T) is center in Danish Technological Institute and is accredited by DANAK to carry out performance testing of finished packaging and analysis and physical testing of the raw materials used to produce it. Packaging and Transport has a well-equipped laboratory for tests of both packaging materials and finished products according to internationally accepted standards such as ASTM, DIN, CEN, IAPRI, FEFCO, ISO, SS and many more.
E&T is a member of the following international organisations: WPO (World Packaging Organisation); SES (Scandinavian Packaging Association); IAPRI (International Association of Packaging Research Institutes); ?resund Food Network; The Institute of Logistics and Transport; ISTA (International Safe Transit Association?The Association for Transport Packaging); Scanpack?Svenska Mess?n (board member), and the following Danish organisations: EANCOM; CLT (Centre for Logistics and Transport); Co-operation Board for Foodstuff research; T?F (Transport economic Forum) presidium; EMA (European Maritime Agency); Danish Packaging Fair (Fair committee). As a member, convenor and chairman, E&T takes part in Danish and European standardisational work within DS and CEN.
E&T's funding comes from commissioned work, teaching assignments and membership subscriptions. In addition, it receives grants from private and public foundations for knowledge acquisition, research and development projects and the purchase of equipment. Through the Danish Technological Institute, E&T has access to specialists and laboratories with front-end technology equipment. The Institute also participates in close teamwork with universities and institutions at home and abroad.
