The SustainPack Demonstrators
Introduction
The purpose of these demonstrator projects is to present to the outside world Sustainpack’s achievements and potential of the breakthrough research from each of the material and technology research sub-projects. To date, there have been thirteen technology breakthroughs within Sustainpack which have been worthy of patent applications or are being considered for patent applications. The demonstators will showcase these technology breakthroughs and provide tangible products for interested organisations and other parties to see by the end of the project in May 2008. Different Sub-projects and project participants are involved in the demonstrators - for example, A&F who lead SP6, will provide the information displays required for each item of packaging. ITENE, SP3 leaders, will provide the coatings for demonstrators 1 to 6 and Novamont, who have recently joined the project as a result of the Open Call last year for SMEs to become involved in the development of the demonstrators, will contribute to 1 and 4. The table below summarises the demonstartors currently under development.
